[Ishimura Ohmi memorial service begins at 11:30AM on 2nd April, 2019]
Ishimura Ohmi is a succession title of Shamisen producer in the Edo-era and there were many acclaimed maestros from its 2nd through 11th generations since the relocation from Kyoto to Tokyo during 2nd generation’s tenure. Especially, the works produced by early producers are called “Ko-Ohmi (old Ohmi)”.
Last but not least, in order to pass the name on to posterity, Tokyo Japanese Music Instruments & Commerce Union has been taken place the memorial service every 2 years at “Daishin-ji temple” in Tokyo (Mita 4-chome, Minato-ward)
